Why is it that some of the best movies aren't at the theaters?
some of the best movies I’ve seen were either limited or straight to dvd and the movies at the theaters suck. I just got watching Dolan’s Cadillac, staring Christian Slater and it was a really good movie. But it was never in the theaters.
Yeah I know tell me about it. "Interstate 60" is a really good movie
Starring James Marsden, Gary Oldman, Christopher Lloyd, Michael J. Fox, Kurt Russell, & Amy Smart
Went straight to DVD. It’s a shame.

Because it’s not a big budget movie backed by a huge film studio.I love Indie movies find them way better than the mainstream stuff.

I think many of the best movies are not even shown in movie theatres. Recent examples of movies that could have been lost in oblivion but were discovered by movie executives include, "Hero" (with Jet Li), "Taken", and "Slumdog Millionaire".
Most of the movies in theatres are about profit. Unfortunately, many of the movies are "dumbed-down" such as "Transformers 2". This is why I love independent films. They make good films because they can take chances since they are not backed up by big money from big studios.
