Shakespeare in LoveShakespeare in Love (1998)

IMDB rating: 7.40

Plot: Romantic comedy set in London in the late 16th century: Young playwright William Shakespeare struggles with his latest work “Romeo and Ethel the Pirate’s Daughter”. A great fan of Shakespeare’s plays is young, wealthy Viola who is about to be married to the cold-hearted Lord Wessex, but constantly dreams of becoming an actress. Women were not allowed to act on stage at that time (female roles were played by men, too), but dressed up as a boy, Viola successfully auditions for the part of Romeo. Soon she and William are caught in a forbidden romance that provides rich inspiration for his play.

Love is knowing and understanding that you would give your life for someone because you wish that someone well.

Love is being able to work things out and talk things through,
Love is waking up in the middle of the night with someone to hold on to,
Love is being there for someone no matter what’s going on,
Love is knowing some one will do the same for you.
Love is what you make it.

I am a big fan of that movie! (Anything to do with Shakespeare interests me, really.) Anyhow, I believe love is pretty subjective as there are different levels. To loosely quote the film "Girl Next Door", love means that the "juice is worth the squeeze". You have to be willing to put someone else before yourself and think only of them. No consequence is too great if it means helping the person you love.

I do believe that a play can capture the very truth and nature of love if it is honest. There must be a rawness in the play and there can be nothing hidden. Love is a powerful emotion, thus there must be the same amount of emotion in the play itself. Not just anyone can capture this. To be honest, I don’t even think Shakespeare did this in his Romeo and Juliet (I believe the play was more of a satire than anyone will admit. It shows the futility and stupidity of young, star-crossed love.).

Hope this helped a little!

love is patience
love is giving and showing the love for another

yeah, i think a play can capture the very truth and nature of love itself.

Nothing can place the feeling of love with someone

love can be captured truly in a play it can be expressed by the actions which are often irrational and sometimes unreasonable but the actors in a play may do it impulsively if they have fallen in love

love is a feeling that not only can be demonstrated through actions but also through captivating words and phrases
