IMDB rating: 4.60

Plot: Chris embarks on an odyssey of self-discovery that spans the globe. Kidnapped and enslaved by gun smugglers, sold by pirates and thrust into the murky underworld of gambling and kickboxing, Chris’ journey takes him to forbidding Muay Thai Island where deadly martial arts are taught, the colonial splendor of British East Asia, the dank back alleys of Bangkok, desolate deserts once trod by the warriors of Genghis Khan and finally, the ancient Lost City. There he must face the ultimate test of his manhood in the fabled Ghang-gheng, the ancient winner-take-all competition in which the deadliest fighters from around the world employ the most spectacular feats of martial arts skills ever displayed in order to win the prized Golden Dragon. But fighting prowess alone will not be enough for Chris to triumph over such daunting foes. He must reach deep inside and access all of the determination, strength of character and sense of selfless honor within in order to triumph over this final obstacle on his long trek home.

I have a question about World of Warcraft, if you have played it…?
Would you say in terms of the amount of freedom you have to wander that it is more comparable to Fable 2, or to Oblivion? Or neither and it is different of both of them?

If you want to play it to just wander about and look into places alone, is this something you can do or is it mostly geared to joining a faction and going on quests that are given to you by NPC’s, etc??

I like Oblivion and Morrowind but I hated Fable 2. So I do not want to pay and waste the time if it is not a game I will ever want to bother with.

Thank you!!

you have the freedom to go just about anywhere, depending on the level of your character. there are quests to do to bring up reputaion and experience. give it a try, the worst that could happen is becoming addicted to it. there is a 10 day free trial you can download from their website.
Mike D | Nov 25, 2009

I haven’t played either of those games, so I can’t compare it to them for you.
You join a faction as part of the character creation, alliance or horde. They definitely encourage you to do quests, but you don’t have to. It may involve a lot of ghost runs, but you can go wherever you want. (I’m pretty sure that in any game, as a level 1 character, it is not advisable to go to areas with aggressive level 30 npc’s. It is possible, just spending alot of time dead trying it.)
The game also is designed to encourage social interacting: professions require mats that other professions make & some quests require multiple players.

Ultimately, try the 10-day trial to find out if its right for you.

Cops N Robbers!

It’s classic yet very blunt!

That’s the best thing i can think of

Dressing up like a cop would be cool but of course that means one of you has to dress up like a robber.

Or you could just choose from the good/bad characters of twilight I’m sure whoever the girl is in this equation would be all for that idea…

Miranda rolled out of bed and fell on the ground. Hard. Mornings were not her thing, especially when she had to get up an hour early in order to finish her homework. She managed to drag her feet to the bathroom and look at herself in the mirror. "Ugh! I am Frankensteins bride!" she insulted herself. Her silky, black hair was extremely messy and her big, brown eyes looked tired. She had been sleeping on her arm and it had left a big imprint across her pale face. She rubbed her eyes and grabbed a pink towel off the hanger to wash her face. She put her hair into a high pony tail, put her silky pink robe on, and headed down the stairs to get a bowl of cereal. But what she found was most out of the ordinary.
"Mom! What are you doing up so early… and what are you wearing?" she asked, referring to her big red dress with an apron.
"Well, sweetie, why wear some ratty old pajama pants when you can look your best?" her mom asked.
"Um… because it’s early in the morning?" she pointed to her robe and her piggy slippers. "Why are you up so early?" she asked again.
"How could I be sleeping on such a lovely day? The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining…" her mom started.
"It’s a cold, rainy, January day!" Miranda pointed out. "You are usually asleep until 12. What time did you get up?" she took a big sip of her coffee.
"5:00"
"and you went to bed at…?"
"4:15"
Miranda took a spit take. "Mom! you need more sleep than that" she lectured.
"No I don’t! Do I look the least bit sleepy to you? No! Now, here, I made breakfast." she gave her a plate with two eggs that looked like eyes and a big bacon strip that looked like a goofy smile. "Eat up!"
As Miranda ate, a million thoughts passed through her mind. "Is mom hallucinating? Am I hallucinating? Why does she look like she’s from the 20’s? Is this a dream? Nobody ever does the bacon egg smiley face breakfast anymore? Why isn’t she getting sleep? Why isn’t she grumpy for getting up this early and ONLY having 45 minutes of sleep?" and, the most important thought of all: "and where did she get those shoes? They’re cute!"
"Uh… mom? I need to go to school now. A before school club! Yeah! Thanks for breakfast." Miranda lied. She quickly changed into her favorite jeans a t-shirt, sneakers, and a coat, grabbed her book bag and headed out. But… something was different.
EVERYONE, everyone looked like they were from the 20’s. It was repulsive how everyone looked so goody goody! "This isn’t my day! WHAT IS IT – Bring back 20’s day? If this is a prank, it was a stupid one! Miranda decided to pretend like everything was normal so everyone knew she couldn’t be pranked! Ha!
She was planning to stop at Al’s Bakery for a muffin before school, because she didn’t have an appetite back at home. But it wasn’t there! "This is too weird!" Then, she saw a poor, hungry old woman trying to sell bread to people. "Oh, poor woman!" Miranda said to herself. She went up to the old lady and gave her some coins. "Eat the bread yourself. I am buying it for you."
"Oh, thank you, dear! You are a saint!" the old woman told her joyfully. "But take this piece of bread! I insist!" she gave her a tiny piece of bread which she shoved in her pocket.
"Thanks, lady! Oh, I need to go! Bye!" she happily waved to the old lady and left.
Finally, Miranda found her friends. "Uh… hey dudes! Whats up with all these people?" she asked.
"What does ‘whats up’ and ‘dudes’ mean?" asked her best friend Kimberly. "and where did you get those clothes? They look…"
"Fab?" Miranda asked.
"Ridiculous! What does fab mean? You must use proper language!" scolded Kimberly
"Oh, shut up!" Miranda joked.
"Well, I never!" Kimberly said angrily as she stormed off.
"Whatever!" Miranda walked along. "Ok…" she said to herself. "I will go to school and everything will be perfectly normal." She walked for about 10 minutes and stopped where her school was. Well, where is was SUPPOSED to be. There was nothing but an open lot which she fainted on.
"Miranda? Miranda?" she heard her mother say. She felt a shake. "Get up! You’re late! You are just so lazy! Get ready for school!"
"Oh… it was just a dream!" she sat up, put her slippers on, and stood up. As she walked to the bathroom, a little peice of bread fell from her pocket.

that is good exept for the frankensteins bride thing i ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE the end where it says as she walked to the bathroom a liitle peice of bread fell from her pocket

i actually think it si pretty good the way it is. Is it supposed to be a short story? because this could be a good idea for a real novel, its cute and unique. you write well also. I really honestly wouldn’t change anything but, to me it seems a little fast paced, but other than that it is great!! I give you an 8 or 9 :) hey if you could.. read mine.. it is long, and I understand if you dont but i would love for someone to do the same for me :)

Happy Camper | Nov 13, 2009

Wow, that’s pretty good. Intriguing. I’d definitely read on!

There’s a few grammar mistakes, but I’m sure those will get fixed if it gets published. I have a small issue with the names you chose. It seems you didn’t put much thought into naming them. Miranda and Kimberly are, to me, random, common names. Maybe you should try more unusual names, to catch people’s eyes. I hate to be so….judgmental, but when I pick up a book, and read the back, I feel more intrigued by books with characters with different names. You could try websites for names, or book even.

Miracle (2004)

IMDB rating: 7.50

Plot: The inspiring story of the team that transcended its sport and united a nation with a new feeling of hope. Based on the true story of one of the greatest moments in sports history, the tale captures a time and place where differences could be settled by games and a cold war could be put on ice. In 1980, the United States Ice Hockey team’s coach, Herb Brooks, took a ragtag squad of college kids up against the legendary juggernaut from the Soviet Union at the Olympic Games. Despite the long odds, Team USA carried the pride of a nation yearning from a distraction from world events. With the world watching the team rose to the occasion, prompting broadcaster Al Michaels’ now famous question, to the millions viewing at home: Do you believe in miracles? Yes!

how can i limit the amount of sugar i intake in my diet? this is a typical day for me…(details inside)?
BREAKFAST
mulit grain cheerios 1 cup = 8grams sugar
1 cup fat free milk = 11 grams sugar

LUNCH
peanut butter=2grams sugar
jelly=0 grams sugar
2 pieces wheat bread= 5grams sugar
3/4 cup low fat yogurt=12grams sugar
1/4 cup granola=7 grams yogurt
propel to drink= 4 grams sugar

DINNER
Ham= 2grams sugar
2 pieces wheat bread = 5grams sugar
miracle whip= 1 gram sugar
cheese= 1 gram sugar
Salad(lettuce only)= 0 grams sugar
spritz italian dressing= 2 grams sugar
apple medium size= 18 grams sugar
propel to drink= 4 grams sugar

and of course bottles of water periodically throughout the day.
now my sodium calories and fats are all perfect. however if you add up all that sugar there (82grams) you will see that is a LOT of sugar considering i am eating healthy. what can i do to change this??? i cant believe all milks (vitamin d, 2%, 1% fat free, skim) all have 11 grams of sugar and soy/goat makes me sick. thanks!

Burning up calories was a lot easier for me when I began trying out acai berry. I know they say that pills will not work, but they sure worked for me, and they have been shown on CBS News too. There is a free trial on at the moment at http://palirs.newexercise.info , why not try it, what is the worst that could happen?
Ryan | Nov 20, 2009

Your sugar intake is OK as most of your sugars are natural sugars.

The sugars that are bad for you are white sugar, refined sugar and table sugar and foods that are loaded with these sugars such as sweets, desserts, cakes, cookies and biscuits.
Susan Yarrawonga | Nov 20, 2009

You can get yogurt that is both low in fat and sugar, make your own dressing with lemon juice and olive oil, have cereal with less/no sugar. To be honest I have no idea what propel is….
hahaha | Nov 20, 2009

Well, think of it this way: sugar turns to fat if you do not burn it up.

If I remember right, multi grain cherios have less than 5 grams of sugar so thats a good start. You low fat yogurts a bit high. Personally I get the yogurt with splenda but you could get your own plain yogurt and sweeten it naturally with fruits. I once heard that anything over 6g of sugar is pushing it unless its from fruit.

What is google wave? no comprendo. . .?

November 27th, 2009

and please don’t give me the official definition of a "collaboration tool equal parts document and something else blah blah blah" because I actually just don’t get it.
please explain it to me like I’m your grandma or something

one more thing: happy black friday!

Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more
John C | Nov 27, 2009

google wave is instant messaging with interactive features to let the two or more people involved share information. like, you can put maps in and edit them in a live session where everyone can see. you can also put documents up and ask the people you’re talking to what they thing they should change and they can highlight parts and edit and stuff. i haven’t found a real personal use for it myself, everything seems business oriented. the only part i really used was Instant messaging, which i can get with any other numerous programs.

The Best Player on the planet ?

November 27th, 2009

TIM DUNCAN "THE BASKETBALL GOD" (HE IS THE NBA over the last 10 years and right there with Tiger Woods as the most dominant player in his SPORT ! He’s won 2 regular season MVP’s and 3 Finals MVP’s. Even though Tony Parker won the 2007 Finals MVP, there’s no question who the "LEADER" of the Spurs is. Duncan was still the overall playoff MVP and the "REAL FINALS MVP". Everyone knows the "REAL 2007 NBA FINALS" was against the Phoenix Suns. Duncan currently remains by far the best basketball player on the face of this (and probably any other) planet. It’s simply ridiculous to name anyone else as number #1. He’s been the best in the league since he entered the league. He was cheated out of the MVP in 1999(karl "MAILFRAUD" MALONE) & 2004 by KG I think there was an error in the voting for the regular season MVP awards. He will win the award in the this season and next to make up for those drastic mistakes. Without question Tim Duncan is the ABSOLUTE best of this past decade and his team is the team of the decade…..IN ALL OF SPORTS (not just the NBA)…… There is no argument at all to make a case for any other player. The Spurs were actually :00.4 seconds and a Ginobili brain cramp away from 5peating…. That’s right… The Spurs should’ve won their 5th title in a row, not just their 4th in 9 years. The question isn’t whether Duncan is the best power foward of all time, he’s been surpassed that. The real question should read: IS TIM DUNCAN THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME?. You may say no way and you’d be correct. However, he’s not as far away from being the best as most of you think. He’s probably 4th or 5th all time. Those who list another player as the best over the last 10 years simply has no clue about sports in general, let alone basketball. It’s TIM DUNCAN’S LEAGUE…all the other players are just playing in it.)

The problem is they keep comparing him out of his position. He is a power forward but they keep comparing him to other centers.

I cant say that he is the best player on the planet but he is one of the most consistent in scoring and winning. Although they are 0-3 and i dont think the Bulls ever went 0-3 while Jordan was winning MVP’s.

Can you identify the Stanzas of this poem? cuz i cant!?
Out in the bay the island waits, green woods
holding on, from this distance, as casually as my son
standing against the chain rail, looking at the water,
looking hard, trying to figure out something about fish
or depth, not yet sure of the question: a picture
of myself thirty-five summers ago looking into a mystery 6
in another part of Maine. Not a real mystery,
only a cellar hole, a family outing , the woods
around North Berwick- I can still picture
myself stepping back, my father saying come on son
see where the big house used to be. No fish
swam in that hole, but it had something to do with water. 12
Maybe I was scared because there wasn’t any water;
anything that deep ought to be covered.
My son’s mystery is his own, however.
He points to a school of fish troubling the surface fifty yards out,
then the woods on Goose Point, then Cranberry mountain:
my son, the guide. I get my camera and take his picture. 18
In the background Bass Harbor Light glistens,
a picture in itself. It is four miles from us across the water,
but it seems like one. How much longer, my son asks.
Twenty minutes. The passing of time is not a mystery to him yet.
How many trees are in those woods?
I tell him more than I can count: 24
it’s like fish nobody knows.
The water ahead is named for a fish, Mackerel Cove.
He asks if he can take a picture of it. I agree.
We pass the black gong; the woods on shore become single trees.
The tidewaters tugging the lobster buoys and their floats
-mystery bottles hovering over the traps below. 30
My son asks if they had ferries when I was a son.
We watch a lobsterman pick out a large fish
from his trap and skid it along his deck, a mystery
to my son who wants to know how. I say picture
it: the bait inside the narrowing net below the water.
For the fish it’s like getting lost in the woods.
As we near the shore I picture myself as my happy son,
throwing bread over the water, gulls grabbing it like fish,
mystery in his eyes, looking lovingly at the green woods. 39

Is he testing me?? What makes him to say all this dirty stuff??!?

I fell in love with this guy 3 yrs ago..We went out once or twice but there was that other girl chasing him like mad, he picked up her, grew to love her (as he said) and stayed with her and for 2 yrs. While still being with her he moved to another country. She cheated on him badly, he was really hurt and he is insecure more than he used to be. He has complexes about being ginger. Plus he is shy.

I found him online recently and concidence made I was going for hols near the place he lives. We were chatting online for a while, he said that it took him a while to get over that girl but he always knew she wasnt a good person just never wanted to admit it to himself (she married another guy 2 wks after being with him)Anyway we met during my hols, spent a lovely day together and night for the first time…And then he started to text me, asked me if i got home ok etc.

I was ignoring him for a few days.He invited me to his house for a few days in a month. I said to him that I feel like an international booty call and he strongly denied, said we would spend a great time and I obviously might feel anxious but I must feel in his house as in my own.. I suggested him to come over here but he said hes sorry but he cant come over here as there are too bad memories hes been trying to forget..(I know he is afraid to meet some friends as well). I booked the ticket but then I though I was doing the running but he might be not into me… He said he was looking forward to seeing me and he made already some plans where to go what to do. (I would have been staying in the guest room). I didnt go at the end, made some excuse, he still talked to me though but I started be very cautious while chatting to him on msn. He said I could save two yrs he wasted on that other girl, just didnt seem to be interested. Its been 6 months since we met and I started to flirt again, and he said that I m on my witty comeback. We have really cheeky sense of humour, joking around about sex we had. Now he said he is coming home 4 xmas…. He texted me in a funny way to let him know if im up for f@. He actually makes very dirty jokes about it… I laugh but then I think maybe he really means it. When I text him haha he texts back "I am serious!!!" Or is he just checking me if Im the same type of a girl as his ex?Should I meet him

he only wants after one thing , "$3%"
charms | Nov 27, 2009

He’s the classic example of a guy who got hurt by a girl and hasn’t had enough time to get over it. Therefore he will treat you like a booty call unless you command more respect. I would tell him (maybe in an email instead of via chat) that you need to know what he wants and expects out of your relationship. Does he want a friend, a bed-buddy, or a serious relationship? Once you know what he wants you can react according to what you want. If you want a serious relationship but he’s made it clear he doesn’t then you can either stop talking to him altogether or proceed with the flirting (even though you know you’ll probably get hurt in the end).
